For right now, I am a one-woman show. I work with families whose young adult (age 18+) is struggling in adulthood despite the best efforts of the family. I interview the family, treating professionals, and any other parties involved, in order to develop a thorough understanding of the needs of the young adult. Based on my experiences, I am uniquely qualified to find the most appropriate therapeutic resources where the Generation Z and Millennial young adult and family can begin to heal.

Joanna Lilley, M.A., NCC

I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV and am a Nationally Certified Counselor.  Before entering the consulting field I collectively worked with struggling adolescents and young adults for over ten years. I guided off and on for six years with both state-run and private wilderness therapy programs. I coached students on academic probation at two institutions of higher education, as well as served on a university treatment team for students who deferred their suspension by opting into an in-house recovery program.

After working with so many struggling young adults, I made the professional leap to start supporting this population and their families in a consulting capacity only. This role includes me serving as an independent* matchmaker between resources for the young adult, rather than being the resource (i.e. Coach) myself. My balance between being empathetic and caring yet direct and transparent is what allows me to easily connect with both the family and young adult. I have been told time and again that my honesty and upfront demeanor is what has been most valued and appreciated.

Collaboration + Honesty + Integrity + Trust

I currently live in Traverse City, Michigan. The move comes after spending seven years in Colorado. Regardless of where I am, I work with families from across the world. No matter where you live, I can be of assistance to you and your loved ones.
