The Inception of Lilley Consulting

‍ No, I’m not a narcissist. However, I wasn’t creative when I was coming up with a business name. My hope is that eventually folks who know about me (whether it be my last name or not), in knowing my expertise was working with this young adult population. I witness very closely for over 7 years the struggles that young adults had launching into college and life. After being front row for that, I wanted to switch gears to help some of those young people individually.‍ ‍

As a Therapeutic Consultant, I act as an experienced, objective matchmaker of resources for both the young adult and their family. My practice specializes in working with emerging adults who are either proactively looking for support during an upcoming transition, have launched into higher education only to unravel, or have graduated from college but are struggling to enter the work world. My core mission is to connect struggling young adults with the most appropriate therapeutic and wellness resources—locally, nationally, and even internationally—saving families from the stressful, opaque, and fragmented process of finding help on their own. ‍

Beyond finding the right resources, I provide invaluable guidance to the young adults. The one thing that separates her from other consultants is that she is firm in her boundary of not stepping into a coaching role for parents. She wants a clear line of communication and trust with the young adult to lean into the autonomy of this journey for them. There are a lot of parent coaches and therapists that work well with parents, and I will work to help parents to connect to those resources too. I want to work with a young adult who’s genuinely interested in working with me. They don’t have to be excited, yet they do need to be open to collaboration with me, and that can only happen if they acknowledge that their life isn’t working out how they want right now. I can help connect them with those resources that will help them get where they want to be.
